I am the Head of Legal (Consumer and Mergers & Acquisitions) at Lesaka Technologies, a dual-listed South African fintech focused on expanding financial inclusion through banking, payments and financial services solutions.

I lead the legal function for Lesaka’s Consumer Division, which provides accessible financial products and services to millions of South Africans, while also leading legal support for mergers and acquisitions across the Group. Since joining Lesaka less than three years ago, I have progressed from Group Legal Counsel and Legal Business Partner to Head of Legal, helping lead significant strategic transactions while acting as a trusted adviser to the business. I believe this combination of legal expertise, commercial leadership and meaningful societal impact is what makes me a rising star.

I progressed to Head of Legal within three years, led legal support on transformative fintech transactions, including Bank Zero, and help advance financial inclusion through Lesaka’s Consumer business.

As a leader, I hope to continue growing beyond technical legal expertise into broader strategic leadership while helping develop the next generation of professionals. I want to lead with integrity, humility and purpose, and create opportunities for others in the same way opportunities were created for me.

My vision for South Africa is a country where access to education, financial services and economic opportunity is not determined by circumstance. I believe innovation, responsible business and inclusive growth can play a significant role in unlocking the country’s immense potential.

Over the last few years, I have built a career that demonstrates the value of embracing challenge and responsibility. I joined Lesaka as Group Legal Counsel and, within a short period, progressed to Head of Legal (Consumer and M&A). During that time, I contributed to several major acquisitions, including Adumo, Recharger, Touchsides and Bank Zero.

I hope my journey demonstrates that with resilience, hard work and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone, significant growth is possible.
