Sync-In

I am a family therapist, counsellor, accredited mediator and parenting coordinator, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Sync-In, a pioneering co-parenting platform dedicated to improving the lives of separated families. My career has been built around one unwavering purpose: ensuring that children remain at the centre of every decision made during family separation.

My passion for supporting children began at the age of 13 when I started babysitting in my local community. That early experience inspired a lifelong commitment to understanding child development, family dynamics, and the profound impact that healthy relationships have on a child’s future.

Today, I hold an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of South Africa (UNISA), am registered with the Counsellors Council of South Africa (CCSA), and an accredited mediator and parenting coordinator through FAMAC and NABFAM.

I have also served as an expert witness in the Children’s Court, representing the best interests and voice of the child in complex family matters. My own experience of navigating separation and co-parenting has shaped my leadership and given me a holistic understanding of the emotional, practical, and financial challenges families face. Rather than viewing those challenges as barriers, I saw an opportunity to create meaningful change.

That vision led to the creation of Sync-In, South Africa’s first dedicated co-parenting platforms. Sync-In combines mental health, mediation, and technology to help separated parents communicate respectfully, manage parenting schedules, track child maintenance, securely share important information, and reduce conflict. It was designed not simply as an app, but as a practical tool that empowers parents to work together more effectively while protecting their children’s emotional wellbeing. As a woman in leadership, I believe innovation is most powerful when it is driven by empathy and purpose.

I lead by listening, collaborating, and challenging conventional thinking to solve real-world problems. I am passionate about building solutions that create lasting social impact, and I believe businesses have a responsibility to improve lives, not just generate profit. My leadership extends beyond technology through public speaking, advocacy, education, and the authoring of One Heart, Two Homes, a children’s book that helps young readers understand and cope with family separation.

Across every aspect of my work, my mission remains the same: to strengthen families, reduce conflict, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the structure of their family. I hope to inspire other women to recognise that leadership is not defined by titles or circumstances, but by the courage to transform personal challenges into opportunities that create positive change for others.

I believe that I have managed to rise above my own circumstances and have taken the hardships and lessons I have learnt to produce a tool that will empower others and minimise the effects of conflict, abuse and alienation.

My vision is to become a globally recognised leader in family innovation, building Sync-In into the world’s leading co-parenting platform and creating solutions that positively impact millions of children and families. I want to leave a legacy of meaningful social change by transforming the way separated parents communicate and collaborate. For South Africa, I envision a nation where innovation is used to solve real societal challenges, where women are empowered to lead with confidence and purpose, and where businesses are measured not only by their profitability but by the positive impact they have on people’s lives. I believe that by strengthening families, we strengthen communities, and ultimately, we strengthen our country.

Over the past five years, I have challenged myself to move beyond supporting individual families and instead create solutions that can help thousands. I founded Sync-In with no technology background because I believed separated families deserved better tools to reduce conflict and improve communication. Turning that vision into reality required stepping far outside my comfort zone, learning new skills, building a business from the ground up, and remaining resilient despite setbacks and limited resources. Alongside building a technology platform, I have continued to advocate for children through my work as a family therapist, mediator, parenting coordinator, expert witness, public speaker, and author. I believe leadership is about identifying a problem, taking responsibility for creating a solution, and having the courage to pursue it even when the path is uncertain. If my journey inspires others, I hope it shows that you do not need to wait for the perfect opportunity or have all the answers to make a difference. Purpose, perseverance, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others can create meaningful and lasting change.
