OrderUp! (Nominated with Yishai Basserabie)

We are Noah (23) and Yishai (24), friends of more than ten years, Electrical Engineering graduates and current Master’s students in Computer Science. We co-founded OrderUp!, a bootstrapped South African software startup that allows customers to order coffee from participating coffee shops, reducing time spent waiting in queues. At the same time, OrderUp! gives coffee shops a direct digital channel through which to serve and connect with their customers through AI driven campaigns and promotions. Since launching, we have grown to 17 stores across Johannesburg and Cape Town, served more than 200 customers and processed over 1,000 orders.

We believe we were nominated for turning a personal problem into a scalable product, bootstrapping as students, and reaching 17 stores, 200 customers and 1,000 orders within two months.

Personally, we want to become founders who build enduring, useful technology while supporting our families and contributing to the community that backed us. For OrderUp!, our vision is to change how coffee is ordered in South Africa by giving every coffee shop, regardless of size, access to the kind of digital ordering and customer-engagement technology used by major international chains.

For South Africa, we want to demonstrate that world-class software businesses can be built locally, create skilled employment and help independent businesses grow rather than be left behind by technology.
