I am Harry Scherzer, co-founder and CEO of Future Forex, a South African fintech built on the belief that financial services should be transparent, accessible, and client-centric. My background as a qualified actuary, combined with my experience in business development, positioned me to lead a company that bridges the gap between strong technology and strong people. At Future Forex, we pride ourselves on a two-pronged approach: cutting-edge systems underpinned by dedicated client service. We believe that while technology enables scale and efficiency, it is people who create trust and long-term relationships.
This philosophy has allowed us to build South Africa’s leading crypto arbitrage service, which has consistently delivered market-beating returns without ever recording a client loss and rapidly expand our international money transfer offering. In just a few years, we have processed more than R27 billion in forex transactions, with almost R10 billion of this in 2024 alone. Our success has been recognised through accolades such as winning the BCX Top Technology Company award for 2024, and through regulatory milestones including securing a Financial Service Provider license, a Treasury Outsourcing license, and becoming one of South Africa’s first licensed Crypto Asset Service Providers. These achievements underscore our legitimacy and long-term commitment to reshaping the financial services landscape.
As a leader, I am deeply committed to building a company that not only innovates but also uplifts. From a small founding team, Future Forex has grown to employ over 150 professionals, including actuaries, MBAs, accountants, engineers, and lawyer, united by a culture of transparency, integrity, and client service. Our proprietary online platform, inspired by global fintech leaders yet tailored for the South African context, has simplified what was once a frustrating, opaque process of international payments. By automating cumbersome compliance tasks and reducing transaction costs, we have empowered South Africans to transact globally with ease, saving them both time and money.
I believe I was nominated for the Jewish Achiever Awards because of the transformative impact Future Forex has had on South Africa’s financial sector in such a short time, and the values I bring as a Jewish entrepreneur, innovation, resilience, and community-minded leadership. Having been recognised as one of the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans in 2024 and a finalist for CEO of the Year at the Africa Career Summit & Awards, I am proud to represent a new generation of Jewish business leaders who are reimagining industries while staying rooted in integrity.
My vision is to empower South Africans through transparent, technology-driven financial solutions, grow Future Forex into a global leader, and contribute to a fair, innovative and inclusive economy.
