I’m a South African performer, singer and recording artist, and a proud Jewish woman working in an industry where that’s rare. I play Rumpleteazer in the international touring production of Cats, performing eight shows a week across countries including India, and in most casts and contracts I’ve been part of, I’ve been the only Jewish person in the company. Alongside touring, I’m an independent recording artist signed to David Gresham Records. My EP Phases came out in November 2025 and earned a SAMA nomination for Best Pop Album, and the music matters to me beyond the accolade: I write to be honest about what your twenties actually feel like, mess and doubt included, not just the highlight reel. I bring that same honesty to my content on Instagram and TikTok, and I’m completing a BA in Strategic Brand Communication at Vega. What makes me a rising star is doing all of this at once, representing both South Africa and my Jewish identity on an international stage, while staying committed to telling the truth rather than performing perfection.
I’ve represented South Africa and my Jewish identity on an international stage through Cats, often as the only Jewish person in the company, released a SAMA-nominated EP, and stayed honest about an imperfect twenties.
I want to keep carrying South African talent, and specifically Jewish talent, onto international stages. There aren’t many Jewish performers in this industry, and I’d like my career to help change that, so the next Jewish kid who wants to do this doesn’t have to wonder if there’s a place for them. I also want my music to keep giving people permission to feel like they’re doing life imperfectly and still be okay, and to show a nonconventional path can still be successful. For South Africa, I hope to see more young people, including more of our Jewish community, encouraged into creative careers.
I joined the international touring cast of Cats as Rumpleteazer, representing South Africa and, in most companies I’ve been part of, as the only Jewish performer in the cast. As well as other shows like Mamma Mia, we will rock you and Disneys the magic box. I signed with David Gresham Records and released my EP Phases, which earned a SAMA nomination for Best Pop Album, writing songs that are honest about what your twenties actually feel like rather than a polished version of it. I’ve also been cast in an upcoming film, Be Afraid, which tells a Jewish story. Alongside all of that, I’ve kept working toward my BA in Strategic Brand Communication at Vega, studying part time while touring.
