I am an entrepreneur, designer, and craftsman, and the Founder and Head Furniture Maker of Saunter Fine Furniture, a bespoke furniture business built on craftsmanship, creativity, and a commitment to quality. Building and running my own business has taught me the value of discipline, adaptability, problem-solving, and taking ownership of every aspect of a project.

I am a passionate and determined individual who believes that anything worth doing should be pursued to the fullest of one’s ability. I hold myself to high standards and am constantly looking for ways to improve, learn, and challenge myself. I believe genuine passion is fundamental to producing exceptional work; whatever I pursue, I make a conscious effort to love what I do and use that passion as a driving force behind the quality of my work.

As I continue developing as an entrepreneur, I am also looking to further my studies in strategy, research, and analysis, with the intention of building a career in these fields. I am particularly interested in developing my ability to understand complex problems, identify opportunities, think critically, and make well-informed strategic decisions. My goal is to combine the practical experience I have gained through entrepreneurship with strong analytical and strategic capabilities.

I believe what sets me apart is my combination of entrepreneurial experience, creativity, and an ambition to continually grow. Building and running my own furniture business has taught me to be resourceful, resilient, and accountable for the quality of my work. I bring the same commitment and passion to everything I pursue, while actively seeking to broaden my perspective through further study in strategy, research, and analysis. I am not afraid to start from the ground up, learn from challenges, and push myself beyond my comfort zone. I see every opportunity as a chance to develop, and I believe this combination of practical experience, curiosity, and determination gives me the potential to make a meaningful impact in whatever field I pursue.

My vision as a leader is to lead with purpose, integrity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. I believe good leadership is not about simply having the answers, but having the creativity and curiosity to ask better questions, the courage to make difficult decisions, and the determination to turn wild ideas into meaningful results.

I want to see a South Africa where young people are encouraged not only to seek employment, but to create it; where businesses can grow, talent is developed, and people are given the freedom and support to turn their ideas into reality.

I believe our future depends on leaders who are willing to take responsibility, think critically, work collaboratively, and put long-term progress ahead of short-term interests. My ambition is to contribute to a South Africa that is more capable, innovative, economically prosperous, and full of opportunity—while retaining the creativity, resilience, and human spirit that make our country unique.

I believe one of my greatest achievements has been having the courage to pursue entrepreneurship while completing my undergraduate degree. Rather than waiting for the “right time” or a conventional career path, I took the risk of building Saunter Fine Furniture from the ground up, developing my skills as a furniture maker while managing the demands of running a business on my own.

I have taken that ambition beyond the workshop by putting my work into the public eye and participating in major industry platforms such as Decorex, an important showcase for South African design and craftsmanship. These experiences have challenged me to put my ideas, creativity and workmanship alongside established names in the industry and have given me the confidence to see my work as something worthy of a larger audience.

What I hope inspires others is not simply what I have achieved, but how I have pursued it: taking risks, working hard, learning through experience, and refusing to let limited resources or uncertainty prevent me from pursuing something I genuinely care about. I am now taking that same approach into my next chapter, seeking to expand my knowledge through further studies in strategy, research and analysis while continuing to grow as an entrepreneur.
